Description
On-screen: Jerry and Rocky walk down the hall
Description: Dirge-like march as Rocky and Jerry and the guards walk slowly down the hall towards the executioner's chamber; the pulses are synchronized with their steps; the theme ends when they stop walking

Analysis: Most of this cue is underlaid by a pedal tone on D, which dissonates against some of the thick, low-register harmonies; a three-note rising melodic gesture is heard as he passes through the first, second, and third doors on his march; the third is the most intense, sounding like a wail; as he arrives in the death chamber, the pedal tone on D changes and the harmony becomes an uneasy F half-diminished chord
