Description
On-screen: Montage of Philip's escape
Description: A different chase theme (also from Most Dangerous Game) is used in the second half of the montage; this one is dark, ponderous and slow (without the exciting gallop rhythms); onscreen we see London, a boat in the ocean, New York, and more wanted posters; the ending of this cue overlaps with source piano music in the film
Analysis: There are two recurring motives in this cue: a strong, syncopated descending gesture in the lower instruments and an upward-reaching gesture in the strings; the descending gesture is harmonized with parallel seventh chords
