Leslie looks out the window |
| Description: |
As the dance music continues in the background, a solo cello introduces Leslie's theme, accompanied by oscillating strings (connected with Leslie's lacework); the oscillating strings continue to grow louder and louder, eventually overtaking the dance music entirely; this represents her internal struggle and obsession with the crime; she cannot face the party and the people there; she tries to focus on her lacework (which she picks up whenever she is nervous and needs to calm down), but here she is not able to calm down -- instead, she breaks down |
